A three piece garage rock band formed in 2001. Nabana, the female vocalist, is the key person of the band and she sings hard and yet sometimes mellow, while playing her white lefty Jazz Master. You can get the feel of their garage rock sound from their latest album"Great Romantic" but you won't get the best of the band until you see them beating the audience by their fully-fledged energetic live performance.

"KOKIRIKO BUSHI" , the collaborative work with a veteran Japanese traditional folk singer, Kanazawa Akiko, got over 750,000 views at YouTube from 2007 and it will knock over your existing image toward a music video by a beautiful trajectory. From 2008, Omodaka has been playing another trial and error process in live performances. He joined "Japan Nite US tour 2009" and his performance with his band members: an Apple MacBook Pro, a Nintendo DS Lite, a Sony PSP, a Gameboy Color, a Korg Kaossilator, and the LCD monitor impacted the audience in USA.
Grapevine
official website
The vocalist had been singing blues and soul, and the band had been influenced by the Beatles, Neil Young & XTC.....their inevitable encounter in Osaka, was the beginning of this incredibly talented group.
The band's live performances and self-released cassette tape alone were enough to quickly get people's attention and offers from major records labels.

Grapevine - Kazumasa Tanaka - Vo/Gtr, Hiroyoshi Nishikawa - Gtr, Toru Kamei- Drums and Makoto Nishihara - Bass, signed to Pony Canyon in 1997 and in September of that year, released a 5-track E.P "Kakusei" (translated into English means 'awakening / disillusion'). In 1999, a second E.P "Slow" became a smash hit and the album "Lifetime“ entered at no.3 in the national chart - a remarkable and exceptional achievement for an up and coming band. Since then, every album that Grapevine has released, is always in the top 10 of the charts, backed up with large-scale nationwide touring by the band.

2002 saw the departure of bassist Makoto Nishihara but with the excellent support of Satoru Kaneto (Bass) and Isao Takano (keys), the band just keep on rolling!

Grapevine have come of age as a band on their latest album “SING" (2008) .
Asakusa Jinta
official website
ASAKUSA JINTA is a hardcore marching brass band from Asakusa in Tokyo, Japan; they call themselves Asianica Hard March Band.
Their music style is a mixture of Rocakbilly, uptempo country, punk and Japanese Kenka and Kayokyoku from the 1930's.
Their base is Asakusa, Tokyo's old downtown, an area reminiscent of traditional Japan. They love this town and people who live there love the band as they are known as a marching band playing on the shopping streets or for weeklong parades. Asakusa Jinta's music theme is joy and sorrow of life and "Giri and Ninjo", the spirit of traditional Japanese emotions such as sympathy, compassion, love and friendship.
They are playing a style of music from the 1930s - actually it's more like a '30s brass band that plays in many different styles. Some songs are like uptempo country or rockabilly, but most of it is just frenetic klesmer. Just accordions and saxophones and trombones all playing lightning fast happy melodies while stand-up bass and drums and tubas throw down polka-style rhythms. The Hawaiian shirts and vaguely lounge-lizard outfits adds the finishing touch to this eccentric band..
