- Montezumas frontman Kristian Matsson started recording a set of rustic, gravelly-voiced tunes, ones that nodded to fellow Swedes Homesick Hank and Thomas Denver Jonsson, under the nom de solo act the Tallest Man on Earth in the early 2000s. His self-titled debut EP was released on Sweden's Gravitation Records in 2006. The "Pistol Dreams" single followed one year later, leading up to the release of the Tallest Man on Earth's first full-length album, Shallow Grave, which hit stores in 2008.

- Los Angeles' Red Cortez is renowned across California for thrilling audiences with their own fresh take on American rock and roll. Their music is literate and immediate and draws from the most classic of soul, punk, and blues influences.
Formerly called The Weather Underground, the band self-released three EPs under that name and has just self-released the Hands To The Wall EP as Red Cortez.
Red Cortez is unsigned and supported Morrissey during his 2009 "Tour of Refusal." Red Cortez has also played recent dates with Little Joy, Matt Costa, Delta Spirit, Constantines, French Kicks, Black Mountain, The Walkmen, and at Daytrotter, SXSW, and Bonnaroo.
